The first physical house. A warehouse studio of departments.
SSL1 is a converted warehouse: high ceilings, raw structure, and the restraint to leave most of it alone. The fit-out follows the same palette as the screen: void, bone, and ember where it counts. It reads like an institution but runs like a workshop. Everything inside is working.
Each department can take a room, a counter, or the full floor. Some are permanent residents; others appear for a season. The building is the constant: the departments bring the programme.
The studio floor is open: no fixed walls, no permanent displays. Departments build their presence with freestanding furniture, modular counters, and the material that defines their practice. When a department leaves, the room resets. The architecture does not compete with the work.
Departments take physical space on their own terms, in their own city. A week or a year.
